You’re back from the Spring Summit in Savannah—your brain full, your notebook brimming, and your head buzzing with ideas from legal updates, marketing breakthroughs, tech enhancements, and transformative conversations.
So… now what?
If you’re feeling fired up and a little frazzled, you’re not alone. The Summit is designed to inspire and inform—but it’s what you do next that determines how much of that knowledge actually moves your firm forward.
Here’s how to turn Summit insight into firm-wide impact—without losing steam or getting overwhelmed.
- Take 30 Minutes to Debrief
Before the day-to-day takes over, carve out time this week to review your notes and session highlights. Ask yourself:
- What are the 3 most valuable takeaways from the Summit? Was it the tax strategies in Sam Donaldson’s Federal Tax Update, the marketing tactics from Accelerated Marketing: Top 5 Strategies for Quick Wins, or a new process idea sparked by the Admin Features in CounselPro8 session?
- What felt energizing, relevant, or urgent?
- Are there any easy wins you can implement this week, like updating your Google Business Profile or adding a COI outreach touchpoint to your calendar?
The goal isn’t to do everything, it’s to start with what matters most now.
- Categorize Your Action Items
Transform your notes into an action plan by organizing ideas into three buckets:
- Do Now – Small, simple items with quick payoff. For example, apply insights from Navigating Workplace Etiquette to polish how your firm presents itself
- Do Soon – Medium-effort projects, like revamping your intake process with ideas from Back to Basics: Hidden Secrets to Consultation Success
- Do Later – Larger goals that require planning, such as building a referral program inspired by Becoming the Go-To Firm in Your Community
This structure keeps you focused while preventing initiative overload.
- Bring Your Team Into the Conversation
Don’t keep your Summit takeaways to yourself—bring them back to your team. Share the insights that sparked your interest and invite input:
- Which sessions felt like game-changers for the firm?
- Who can take ownership of certain ideas?
- What fits our current goals and capacity?
Whether it’s involving your tech team in setting up custom letter templates in CounselPro8, or your staff implementing lessons from How to Set Up a Successful Seminar, collaboration will turn ideas into execution.
- Lean Into Academy Resources
You’re not starting from scratch. The Summit may be over, but your support system is just a click away:
- Browse the Academy’s Members Only and eLearning sites for templates, guides, and how-tos
- Reach out to your Practice Building Coach if you need help prioritizing, planning, or launching a new idea
- Once available, review the materials and audio from all of the relevant Summit sessions
- Launch a 30-Day Sprint
Choose one or two initiatives and focus your energy for the next 30 days. Don’t try to do everything, just make visible progress.
Sprint ideas include:
- Draft your first video script based on Becoming the Go-To Firm strategies
- Update your admin settings or email templates after the CounselPro8 Admin session
- Create a seminar checklist using tips from How to Set Up a Successful Seminar
- Publish three client-facing blog posts inspired by questions raised during the My Client Died… Now What? session
Put tasks on the calendar, assign owners, and keep it simple.
- Celebrate Progress (Even the Small Stuff)
It’s easy to focus on what’s still left to do, but don’t overlook the value of what you’ve already accomplished. Meaningful progress often happens in small steps—a decision made, a process improved, a task checked off your list. Taking a moment to acknowledge those wins builds momentum and boosts morale, both for you and your team. Whether it’s a conversation that led to clarity, a task that finally got crossed off, or a small change that made something easier or better, it counts. Recognizing these moments reinforces a culture of continuous improvement and helps keep the post-Summit energy alive.
From Summit Energy to Lasting Impact
The Summit is designed to help you Reflect. Refuel. Reimagine. But none of that matters if it stays in your notebook. The real power of the Summit happens after you leave Savannah—when you put your ideas into motion.
Whether you’re implementing one takeaway or rolling out a five-part action plan, remember: progress beats perfection every time. And don’t forget, the Academy is here to support you every step of the way.
And if you or someone on your team wasn’t able to join us in Savannah, now’s the perfect time to start planning for the Fall Summit, happening October 15–20, 2025 at the Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa in San Diego. There’s no substitute for the energy, insight, and connection that come from being there in person—learning side-by-side with other committed professionals and returning home inspired and equipped.
Not yet an Academy Member? We’d love to share how our events, resources, and support can help take your practice to the next level. Contact us today to learn more about the Academy and how to join us for the next Summit experience.
Let’s build on this momentum—together.
