About Carrie Smith
carrie@aaepa.comAs the Associate Director of Member Services, Carrie leads and directs the execution of the Member Experience. She works to provide first class service by leading initiatives that move the needle and by empowering the Practice Building Coaches into a team that is committed to the success of the Academy Members. She is driven by solutions and strives to maintain an environment that is conducive to growth and development.
Carrie is passionate about creating a culture that is built on relationships, trust, transparency, hard work, and appreciation.
Professional Experience
Prior to joining the Academy, Carrie had a variety of leadership roles including developing a Healthy Living Hub for the NHS in North Central London spanning three hospitals and five boroughs. Before that, she was Senior Manager of Health Coaching for a large organization where she oversaw lifestyle and nurse coaching teams and helped to develop and implement services that supported thousands of Members in meeting their health and wellness goals. Carrie also worked as Laboratory Supervisor for the San Diego Eye Bank where she helped to change lives through donation and transplantation.
Education
Carrie attended the University of California, San Diego with a major in Psychology and minors in Chemistry and Humanities. She has training in Emotional Intelligence and Situational Leadership and broad experience in coaching. Carrie is especially interested in positive psychology and loves accountability.
Personal
Carrie was born and raised in San Diego, living there most of her life. She recently lived in London and is now residing in Washington, DC. She has 2 grown children and enjoys being outdoors, finding adventures through travel, and looking for new things around every corner.
