At the Academy we talk a lot about taking time to work on your business, not just in your business. Consciously stepping away from the day to day operations of your firm to focus on things like your Why, your strategic and marketing plans, workflow operations, technology, and more are just as important as your personal consultation with a new client. You’ve heard that from us many times before. We believe very strongly in the need to constantly engage in continuing education and networking, so the Academy Ninjas recently attended the annual technology conference hosted by InfusionSoft in Phoenix, AZ.
Each year part of our team attends Infusioncon (ICON) to take advantage of the one on one trainings, success stories, automation hacks, and big ideas. ICON15 didn’t disappoint! We returned to the Academy offices with a long list of items to implement immediately and some to work on and implement along the way — and have already begun working on some exciting new efforts!
One of my favorite parts of ICON is the daily keynote sessions. The speakers at these sessions are such a dynamic group of individuals from a variety of backgrounds all with one thing in common: they had a big idea and are seeing it manifest in a big way and want to share it with the InfusionSoft community.
My favorite keynote of this particular event was delivered by a marketer who I am a huge admirer of: Sally Hogshead, creator of the Fascination Advantage and the Anthem Method. Her message was simple. Rather than try to be better than everyone else competing in your already saturated market, be different. At the Academy we encourage our Members to be a unique, trusted advisor to their clients. Someone who is indispensable to the families they help, not just someone who is good at processing documents. The idea of being a unique asset is deeply engrained in the Academy’s principles, so Sally’s discussion spoke volumes to the Academy Ninjas!
