American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys are First in Nation for Attorney Training by Nationally Known IRA Expert, Ed Slott

San Diego, California – The American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys conducted an extensive IRA and Retirement training at an educational conference in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 15, 2006. This attorney training program featured nationally known IRA and Retirement expert Ed Slott, from New York, as the instructor.

The Academy is the premier national organization promoting excellence in estate planning by providing member attorneys with educational seminars, material, and other important resources. Over half of the Academy membership from around the country attended to learn more about how to help consumers avoid making irreversible errors with their IRAs and Retirement Accounts. The training was so helpful that the Academy plans another training event for the remainder of the membership.

This conference marked the first-ever event where Mr. Slott limited participation to estate planning attorneys. This training was valuable to the attorneys in attendance, as well as consumers they work with due to the ever-changing and highly complicated issues around IRAs and other retirement assets (401k, 403b, 457, etc.) . If a consumer has a large IRA or other retirement account, the right advice can allow them to take advantage of huge opportunities in the tax code—and more importantly, the wrong advice can cause irreversible problems and cause the entire IRA balance to be taxed immediately. Slott focuses on educating professionals on how to save their clients large sums of money and avoid costly mistakes which would otherwise result in huge tax payments. With estate planning attorneys at the center of many critical retirement planning discussions with their clients, this type of education gives clients a higher level of confidence in the professionals they work with. Attorneys completing this training will now be listed on Mr. Slott’s website directory to help consumers and professionals alike find advisors and attorneys.
